Imphal, March 09 2026: The Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti, Imphal, organised a "Moirangthem Chandra Singh, Pandit Achouba" memorial lecture programme at Manipur Press Club today.

During the programme, Prof Polem Nabachandra, retired Dean, School of Humanities at Manipur University, delivered a lecture on " The life and works of Moirangthem Chandra Singh, Pandit Achouba".

The event was chaired by Naoroibam Indramani, president of Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti, Imphal, who highlighted Moirangthem Chandra's contributions to promoting the language and his expertise in ancient Puya texts.

He shared that Chandra passed away on June 18, 1976, at the age of 81, leaving a lasting impact on Manipuri literature.
