Assam Rifles commemorated International Women's Day 2025 across various districts in Manipur, reaffirming its commitment to women empowerment, community welfare, and social harmony.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), Assam Rifles in Pallel (Kakching district) conducted an awareness lecture for ex-servicemen, widows, Veer Naris, and dependents, highlighting various welfare grants and financial support schemes.
Seventy individuals, including children, participated in the session.
A tree plantation drive was also organized, reinforcing the message of environmental sustainability and community development.
In Pangaltabi (Kakching District) and Unopat (Chandel District), Assam Rifles organized a cleanliness drive, an interactive session, and a medical check-up, emphasizing community well-being and women's health.
Women were honoured with gifts in recognition of their contributions to society.
Additionally, a motivational session and a volleyball match were conducted at Unopat Village, fostering self-confidence, perseverance, and teamwork.
Winners and participants were felicitated, making the event both engaging and inspiring.
In Churachandpur District, Assam Rifles marked the occasion by distributing essential items such as solar lights, chairs, plastic wardrobes, and food supplies to a local girl orphanage.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the children, who expressed their gratitude with heartfelt smiles and a cultural performance.
Through these initiatives, Assam Rifles once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to respect, equality, and solidarity, actively contributing to a more inclusive and empowered society.
