Imphal, September 08 2025: For the first time, a Liangmai community market is opening at Imphal from September 16.Vegetables, fruits and various produce from the hills will be sold at the market at Ideal Club campus at Tera.

At Manipur Press Club, Imphal today, the committee's convenor, Nongthombam Sanajaobana said the Liangmai is an indigenous community of the State.

He said the Liangmai Imphal Market Committee was formed by civil societies in Imphal after receiving requests to set up a market for the Liangmai community.

The Liangmai community market at Tera will open from September 17 morning.

Vegetables and fruits produced by theLiangmai community people in the hills will be sold in the market, Sanajaoba said.

The market will foster peaceful coexistence and stand as a testament to the brotherly relation between the people of the hills and the valley, he said.
