Free Medical Camps benefit over 200 people in Imphal West

Imphal, August 08 2026: Two free medical camps were organised in Imphal West district on Saturday to provide healthcare services at the doorstep.

Under its Out-Reach Programme, the Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur organised a Free Medical Camp cum ABHA and PMJAY Card enrolment drive at Kadangband Apunba Naharol Club Community Hall, Kadangband Part-II.

The camp was held under the aegis of District Administration, Imphal West, and in coordination with SDC/ Sub-Divisional Officer, Lamsang.

Around 130 persons availed facilities including blood sugar, haemoglobin, blood group, TB, HIV tests, X-ray and consultations in Medicine, TB, ENT and Eye.

Free medicines were distributed.

Health Educator M Meghachandra Meetei of Community Medicine Department, RIMS, and Dr Irengbam Homendro Singh, District TB Officer, Imphal West, spoke as resource persons on prevention and management of tuberculosis and oral cancer.

As part of the programme, eKYC and enrolment for UDID cards for differently-abled persons was also conducted.

In another camp, NEINASANG Club in collaboration with KARKINOS Manipur Cancer Institute & Research Centre, organised a one-day free cancer screening and health check-up camp at the club premises in Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.

The camp aimed at creating awareness on cancer prevention and healthy living.

A total of 70 persons including 62 women and 8 men were screened for Oral Visual Examination, Clinical Breast Examination, Cervical Screening, general health consultation and blood sugar testing.
