FCI to open sale food grains

Imphal, August 07 2024: Food Corporation of India, Regional Office, Manipur has announced that the sale of food grains under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) to private parties through e-auction mode will be done in the upcoming weeks.

FCI, RO, Manipur AGM, Sumit Sharma announced this during a press meet held today at its office in Old Assembly Road, Imphal.

The AGM also informed that the offered quantity will be 500 MT each from FSD Jiribam and FSD Senapati.

"The approximate sale price including the transportation and FRK cost will come to Rs 3184 per quintals and Rs 3441 per quintals from FSD Jiribam and FSD Senapati respectively", he added.

Sumit Sharma also said that FCI, RO, Manipur has conducted a survey of the local market and found that local rice is costing between Rs 55 per kg to Rs 64 per kg while the price of non-local rice was sold between Rs 38 per kg to Rs 40 per kg.

He exuded confidence that the food grains under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) to private parties will help in bringing down the price of rice in the local market.
