Imphal, June 07 2026: Samajwadi Party Manipur State president Ksh Bishorjit has announced that the party will field candidates in over 40 Assembly constituencies across both hills and valley in the upcoming State Assembly election.

He made the announcement during a reception programme for new entrants organised by the SP Manipur State Committee at Bamdiar, Merakhong Mapan.

Around 100 people from various constituencies joined the party and were felicitated with the party's lengyan.

State vice president Romeo Khundrakpam and other party leaders also attended the event.

Bishorjit said the BJP-led Government has failed to resolve the ongoing unrest in the State and argued there is no need for a Government that cannot end the crisis.

He urged the public to trust the Samajwadi Party to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.

He further stated that if people give the party just four months in power, it will end the conflict.

If it fails, the public may take any action against party leaders, he added.
