Mould students to raise a nation: Nara

Imphal, June 07 2009: There is no other means to raise a state other than moulding the students, ex-Minister Dr M Nara said while speaking during the felicitation function of toppers of Zenith Academy, Sangaiprou yesterday.

Speaking as the president of the function held at Iboyaima Shumanglila Shanglen, Dr M Nara said that Manipur is now like a leaderless state.

He also hails the Zenith Academy for producing bright and promising students.

RK Anand, who was the chief guest of the function extolled the Zenith Academy for producing student who secured cent percent in Manipuri subject in the CBSE examination.

He said everybody has great responsibility in bringing quality education in the state while also maintaining that private school authorities also need sincerity on their parts.

The function was also attended by Adviser of Manipur State Sumang Lila Council, L Tarpon, and retired Professor of MU, Dr RK Tarachand as the guests of honour. Giving the school's report, the Managing Committee secretary of Zenith Academy, S Manaoton said that the school is able to produce toppers as it is strictly following the new guidelines provided by the CBSE.

Among the 125 students appearing in the CBSE class XII exam this year from the academy, 81 students have passed in first division, 32 students in second division making the pass percentage to 90.1 percent.

There are 55 students who scored cent percent in painting, and two students have scored cent percent in Manipuri subject, the secretary reported.

Six toppers in Class XI, 10 toppers in Class XII, and several teachers of the school including English teacher Arjun, Maths teacher O Rajen, Painting teacher E Suresh, Biology teacher H Sangita, Home Science teacher L Rebika, Civics teacher N Ronibala, Chemistry teacher SManoranjan, and Manipuri teacher S Premila were honoured in the function.
