Schools inspected

Imphal, June 06 2026: MLA Th Lokeshwar and Education (S) Director Ng Bhogendra Meitei visited Government run schools under Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency today.

Officials of the Education Department and Public Works Department accompanied the MLA and the Education (S) Director during the visit to the schools at Sagolmang, Pukhao Ahallup, Pukhao Terapur, Pukhao Litanpokpi, Taretkhul, Uyumpok, Keibi Awang Leikai.

While the team assessed the conditions of the schools and infrastructural needs, they also inspected the Pukhao Litanpokpi school which is being occupied by Central security forces after violence broke out in Manipur.

While visiting the school, Education (S) Director Bhogendra noted that the Central security forces are stationed at some 50 schools at present due to the Manipur crisis.

Even as the education of children in these schools has been affected, efforts are being taken up for the security forces to vacate the schools.

The Chief Secretary has also been informed of the situation, Bhogendra said.

MLA Th Lokeshwar said the inspection was carried out to assess the conditions of the schools and address their needs.
