MDA extends financial aid to ailing driver

Imphal, September 05 2026: As part of its continued humanitarian assistance, the Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) today extended financial aid to driver Makakmayum Rahimuddin @ Amubi, who has been bedridden due to illness and unable to work.

Rahimuddin, originally from Yairipok Ningthounai and presently residing at Kairang Tera Makhong, suffered two strokes.

A team led by MDA president Saikhom Babudhon, general secretary Ksh Sanjoy and advisor S Ganga visited his residence today and handed over the monetary assistance.

Speaking to the media, Ksh Sanjoy said drivers transporting essential commodities amid the present unrest in Manipur are facing untold hardships.

He lamented that drivers are subjected to assault and threats, which is most unfortunate.

He appealed not to commit such acts, noting that the goods drivers bring are for all communities living in the State.
