Thoubal, July 05 2026: Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup on Sunday organised a tree plantation drive at the Chengei Ching Goddess Emoinu Complex in Waithou, Thoubal district, as part of efforts to promote environmental conservation.

The plantation programme was attended by Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board Secretary Sandham Gandharaj.

Vice-President Chanam Nabachandra Meitei, Uttra Sanglen Sana Konung Yaiskullakpa and retired Junior MCS officer Keisham Raghumani, Officer-in-Charge of Lilong PS N Subhash Singh, and Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup President Wangkhem Ibochou Meitei.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandham Gandharaj expressed concern over the worsening global environmental crisis, saying that the rapid degradation of nature has become a matter of serious concern for humanity.

He said people must think about the future of the planet and the kind of environment that would be left for future generations over the next few decades.

Stressing the need for collective action, he urged everyone to plant more trees and actively participate in environmental conservation.
