Moirang, December 01 2025:
Demonstrating its enduring commitment to community welfare and nation-building, the Indian Army organised a School Health Screening Camp at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School on Monday as part of its ongoing Civil-Military Fusion initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Armed Forces, local administration and healthcare agencies.
According to a release issued by the Indian Army, the initiative saw the participation of over 350 students, aged between 8 and 17 years, who underwent comprehensive medical screening.
The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, the Brigade Commander of 59 Brigade, the Chief Medical Officer and several prominent local personalities.
The health screening covered key areas including vision and eye care, ENT assessment, dental check-ups, and pediatric evaluation with emphasis on mental and behavioural well-being.
A team comprising 12 doctors and seven healthcare workers-drawn from the Army Medical Corps, RBSK teams and local health departments conducted the examinations and provided necessary referrals.
The camp also marked World Aids Day with the theme "Prevention is Better than Cure".
A poster-making competition was held to promote awareness among students, and winners were felicitated during the programme.
The initiative underscored the Indian Army's continued commitment to community welfare, health promotion and support for remote populations, reinforcing its role not only as a security force but also as a partner in social development.
