Imphal, November 30 2024:
Shiv Sena, Manipur State expressed bewilderment on why the Prime Minister is refusing to meet the chief minister of Manipur, when he (PM) met the Mizoram chief minister multiple times.
Briefing the media at the party's Babupara office on Friday, Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi pointed out that since outbreak of the violence in May last year, Kuki civil societies and legislators have been making relentless effort to balkanise Manipur through their pursuit for separate administration or formation of a union territory with legislature, with the Mizoram CM not only backing the same agenda but also advocating creation of an independent entity for the Kuki-Zo communities in international forum.
On the other-hand, Tombi asserted that the right for replacing the CM of Manipur rests on the people of the state and as such, it is questionable why the Mizoram government representatives, and political organisations and figures are calling for the removal of the chief minister of another state.
While advising the Mizoram government not to interfere in the affairs of other states, he also wondered why PM Modi met the CM of Mizoram multiple times but continues to shun the CM of Manipur.
Tombi also prodded the conscience of the union home minister when cadres of Kuki militants bound by the SoO agreement are indulging in slaughtering innocent women and children, along with arising posers on the Meetei MLAs unable to unite and out-rightly reject sinister demand of the 10 Kuki MLAs.
On the other-hand, he said army authorities should be held accountable for the involuntary disappearance of Laishram Kamalbabu from the Leimakhong camp of 57th Mountain Division.
