Thoubal, August 30 2026: Locals and members of Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup staged a sit-in protest at Sorojini Oil Pump premises at Khangabok, Thoubal denouncing the hand grenade attack yesterday.

A hand grenade was thrown from inside a four wheeler vehicle at the oil pump yesterday at around 6.30 pm.

The grenade exploded causing some damage to a tanker and the wall of the fuel station.

Thoubal police have registered a case for investigation.

The protesters today denounced the grenade attack, and urged all groups, individuals concerned not to repeat the incident again in the future.

The protesters also asked the groups or individuals concerned to claim responsibility and clarify the reason behind the attack.
