Imphal, July 30 2025: Gurumayum Sanatombi Sharma, senior artist of Moppet Decoration and Cultural Center (MDCC), Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leisangkhong, Imphal West, has been awarded a Senior Fellowship in the field of "Folk Traditional & Indigenous Art, (Puppetry)" for the batch year 2022-2023 (2024) .

As per a release issued by MDCC, Gurumayum Sanatombi Sharma of Thiyam Leishangkhong, Laishram Leikai, Imphal West, has been actively working in the field concerning with the preservation, documentation and propagation of the ethnic "Hang-Lai of Manipur" and other forms of "Hang- Lai in Manipur" performances, conducting, lecture cum demonstration and imparting training to youths.

G Sanatomba Sharma has undertaken various cultural activities for preservation and revival of the indigenous systems of rare art forms including Manipuri Hang- Lai theatre, dance and music.
