Continuing its unwavering commitment to the welfare of the local population in Manipur, the Assam Rifles unit based at Veng organised a Mega Medical and Dental Aid Camp under Operation Sadbhavna at Saikot, Churachandpur District, on December 27, 2025.According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative follows a similar successful camp held recently at Sangaikot, further reinforcing the force's sustained efforts to bridge the healthcare gap in remote and affected regions of Manipur.
The camp was conducted in seamless coordination with specialist medical officers from the District Hospital, Churachandpur, alongside the dedicated Medical and Dental teams of the Assam Rifles.
The outreach provided comprehensive health examinations and professional consultations to a total of 661 beneficiaries, including 183 children, 251 women, and 164 men.
Notably, the team also extended specialised care to 63 dental patients and 121 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), comprising vulnerable elderly individuals and children.
Beyond immediate clinical treatment and the distribution of free medicines, the camp focused on holistic well-being by providing essential counselling on hygiene and dietary practices.
In a gesture to empower local talent, sports medicines and first-aid kits were distributed to youth football teams from the Saikot area.
This humanitarian effort, aimed at fostering resilience and communal harmony, was widely lauded by the local population and youth clubs for providing critical support during challenging times.
