Bishnupur, August 28 2025: The 3rd training programme on "Silk Cocoon Harvesting & Handling" under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) campaign was successfully conducted on Wednesday at Wangoo Keirap, Bishnupur district.

The programme was organised by the CSB-Regional Sericultural Research Station (RSRS), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Mantripukhri, Imphal, in collaboration with the Department of Sericulture, Government of Manipur.

The training included practical demonstration on cocoon harvesting, sorting and garlanding, along with expert sessions on silk spinning and dyeing techniques.

The event was attended by S Premchandra Singh, MLA Kumbi AC; Robertson Asem, Director of Dept of Sericulture, Govt of Manipur; Dr S Subharani Devi, Scientist-D & Head CSB-RSRS, Imphal; K Tahenleima Chanu, DSO Bishnupur; P Baleshwor Singh, Pradhan Terakhong GP; and Th Romesh Singh, Pradhan Borayangbi GP .
