Director inspects tourism projects at Khongjom Kheba Ching

Thoubal, June 28 2025: Tourism Director Lourembam Bikram inspected the ongoing infrastructural development works of the Tourism Department at Khongjom Kheba Ching and surrounding regions today.

Prior to 2017, during the rule of former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, developmental works were initiated to transform Khongjom War Memorial Complex into a mega tourist centre under the Tourism Department.

It is worth noting that Khong Day is celebrated here every year on April 23.During today's visit, the Tourism Director evaluated the water supply scheme, Khongjom guest house and ongoing construction of the hall at Khongjom War Memorial Complex.

He also assessed the sites selected for the construction of a well-fenced garden and cafeteria; fencing along the perimeter of the Complex and renovating the water bodies within the Complex.

The Tourism Director was accompanied by Ahanthem Subhash, former DC of Thoubal and currently the Additional Secretary of Home, DP and Finance of the Government of Manipur.

Representatives of local clubs in the vicinity of Kheba Ching and meira paibis also accompanied Lourembam Bikram during his visit.

Additionally, tree saplings were planted in the surrounding areas of Khongjom Guest House.
