AMUCO, political activists extend aid to destitute families

Imphal, June 27 2021: Continuing its effort of helping destitute families affected by the lockdown imposed for containing Covid-19 pandemic, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) handed over edible items to clubs in Imphal West, Imphal East and Kakching district for further distribution to destitute families.

In a release, AMUCO general secretary MM Thambou informed that along with several local clubs it distributed edible items to 296 poor families on Sunday.

AMUCO along with Singjamei to Lilong United Clubs' Organisation (SLUCO), which is a conglomerate of 64 clubs, distributed edible items to 106 households under the jurisdiction of SLUCO and to 150 other households in association with Social United Clubs' Organisation, which is a joint body of 18 clubs in Imphal East.

Similarly, AMUCO and Social Economic Development Organisation (SEDO) distributed edibles to 40 households in Kakching district that have been affected by the pandemic.

Mention may be made here that AMUCO has so far extended aid to 4,246 households.

On the other hand Friendship Sporting Club Kakching Phoushupat Leikai distributed the edible items to households in the locality for the third time while SS Olish Lamkang, who contested the last general assembly election in Chandel A/C on BJP ticket, handed over edible items to village authority of Liwa Changning village, Chandel for further distribution among the villagers.

Wabagai A/C ex-MLA Dr Usham Deben along with Absolute Benefaction Club (ABC) Wabagai Terapishak, Kangleicha Chaokhat Thourang Lup (KACHATHOL) Hiyanglam Wabagai, Oriented Social Association (OSA) Hiyanglam Awang Leikai and Literary and Sporting Organisation (LISPO) Hiyanglam Awang Leikai also distributed edible items to 350 households in Wabagai Terapishak.

Sena Athletes Organisation (SAO) Kakching Wairi and Sena Youths Trust (SYT) distributed edible items to 315 households in Kakching Wairi Senapati Leikai.

Monetary aid of Rs 2,000 was also given to six victim-families of Covid-19 and Rs 1,000 each to two destitute households in the locality.
