Ibudhou Thangjing Shanglen inaugurated at Thinungei

Moirang, April 27 2026: A newly constructed Ibudhou Thangjing Shanglen at Thingungei Awang Leikai Ward No 5, was inaugurated on Monday by RK Sanayaima, advisor of Peace Committee Kangleipak, Manipur (PCKM), and was formally handed over to the Ibudhou Thangjing, Thinungei Lai Committee.

The construction for the new Shanglen was funded by PCKM.

The inauguration function was organised by the Ibudhou Thangjing Thinungei Lai Committee.

Addressing the gathering, RK Sanayaima emphasised the need for unity and preservation of cultural identity in the wake of ongoing tensions in the State.

He expressed concern over sporadic incidents of violence among communities, growing divisions among communities, and the strained relationship between hill and valley populations.

He stated that in the current situation, where further discord could arise, it is essential to uphold and perform traditional rituals at community shrines, as these practices help preserve identity and foster mutual respect among communities.

Sanayaima said that the killing of two children in Tronglaobi bomb attack, and the deaths of two civilians at TM Khullen were attempts to create unrest disrupt social harmony.

The programme was also attended by PCKM president Rajesh Meitei, and members of the Thamnapokpi Nupi Yaipha Marup, among others.
