Ukhrul, July 26 2025: Kamjong District administration on Saturday commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas at the DC Kamjong Camp Office, 2nd MR Complex, Imphal.

Kamjong ADC/ADM HL Jain and various department heads attended the event to celebrate the victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War.

While reflecting on the significance of the day, HL Jain asserted that the Indian armed forces defeated and compelled the Pakistani intruders to withdraw to their side of the Line of Control, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy.

"It marks the glorious victory of 1999, during the Kargil War, when our soldiers, braving snow-clad peaks, reclaimed the heights of Kargil with unmatched courage and unwavering resolve," he stated.

He also noted that the anniversary is not merely an occasion on the calendar but a poignant reminder to honour the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation, its territorial integrity, and its people.

Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day) is commemorated annually in India to observe the nation's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War and to celebrate the valour of the soldiers who fought in 1999 .
