Thoubal, September 24 2026: A lottery was conducted on Wednesday at the Training Hall of the District Veterinary Hospital, Thoubal for the selected beneficiaries of Thoubal and Kakching districts under the NEC project "Diary Farming - A way of life for scheduled caste farmers of Manipur" .

The lottery was held for the phase-wise distribution of the pregnant heifer for the SC beneficiaries of both the districts.

It was jointly organised by the District Veterinary Office Thoubal and Kakching.

The lottery was conducted for about 178 and 179 selected beneficiaries of Thoubal and Kakching districts respectively.

An officer from the Veterinary Office Thoubal took charge of the lottery event as an observer to facilitate the preparation of a transparent list for the phase-wise distribution of the pregnant high-yielding heifer to the selected beneficiaries of both the districts.

The phase-wise distribution of the 5-6 months pregnant heifer to the beneficiaries will be strictly based on the outcome of the lottery.

The officials from the District Veterinary Hospital, Thoubal and Kakching, staff, farmers and beneficiaries took part in the lottery.
