Imphal, May 24 2024:
Presidents of six student bodies namely MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK, AIMS another organisation have issued a joint statement that the bodies would be closing monitoring and working alongside students to ensure maintenance of academic calendar and atmosphere in Manipur University.
According to the statement, the once prestigious Manipur University is continuing to degrade similar to a patient fighting for life in the ICU.
Due to administrative inefficiency in the university, it has been unable to follow the academic calendar, with the PG departments unable to start their session from any given date.
Instead of looking into the matter and ensuring the academic calendar is complied with, the university authority is becoming more contract-oriented and working only in areas of interest.
The presidents continued that instead of adhering to the examination schedule, the examinations are postponed from time to time without giving any reasonable explanation with the strangest conduct being MU authority eyeing conduct of the MUSU election when the academic sessions are about to commence.
This would not only create more chaos but lead to further postponement of the examinations.
Urged MU authority to stop such reckless actions and instead ensure that the academic calendar and atmosphere is maintained, the student bodies further remarked that the moment has come to closely monitor the workings of the university.
