RAUS hosts 10th Convocation Ceremony

A significant milestone was marked by Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) on Monday, with the conduct of its Annual Convocation Ceremony at the RMC Auditorium.
The event held special significance as it was the 10th Annual Convocation, marking a decade of academic excellence and achievement, said a release.
As per tradition, the ceremony commenced with the rendition of the Ramaiah Anthem.
A total of 2,095 degrees were conferred, including 50 PhDs, 698 postgraduate degrees, and 1,347 undergraduate degrees.
In recognition of outstanding academic performance, 107 medals were awarded to meritorious students.
The event was graced by Prof Navakant Bhat, Dean, Division of Multidisciplinary Sciences and Professor, Centre for Nano Science & Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc); and Dr M R Jayaram, Vice-Chancellor, RUAS as the chief guest & president respectively.
In his address, Prof Navakant Bhat highlighted the uniqueness of the graduating cohort, noting that all graduates belong to Generation Z.He observed that the world is nearing the completion of the first quarter of the 21st century, and that this generation has grown up with smartphones, the internet, social media, digital banking, and advanced technologies.
Prof Bhat stated that within the first two years of the graduates' professional careers, by 2028, India is expected to surpass Japan and Germany to become the world's third-largest economy.
Calling upon graduates to act as agents of change, Prof Bhat emphasized that the next 25 years offer a unique opportunity to shape a new India and a new global order.
He highlighted the supportive ecosystem in the country, with both the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka launching major initiatives in science, technology, and innovation, which are expected to drive inclusive economic growth over the next two decades.
Dr M R Jayaram and Prof Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Pro Vice-Chancellor, RUAS, congratulated the graduates and urged them to act wisely and make impactful contributions to the society.
