Thoubal, May 22 2025: In an unfortunate incident, the dead body of a 10 year-old boy who drowned while swimming with his friends at a Water Supply pond located at Sangaiyumpham Part II under Thoubal Police Station was recovered by Asatullah alias Eshing Maiba.

The boy has been identified as Md Sarif, s/o Md Sahid from Sora Maning Leikai, Kakching district and has been staying at his uncle's residence at Sangaiyumpham Part II Cherapur Mayai Leikai.

He was a student of Islamic Child Care English School and studied in class VI .

Sarif, while swimming with his friends at a Water Supply pond near Sangaiyumpham Pt II Masjid, drowned at around 1 pm and his lifeless body was recovered at 3.50 pm .
