Imphal, April 22 2026: The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) organised its 85th Mega Blood Donation Camp today under the theme, "Maheiroi Khunai Amadi Leibak Miyaamgi-damak Kathoklaba Ee" .

The drive was held simultaneously across five major medical facilities: RIMS, JNIMS, Babina Hospital, Shija Hospital, and Thoubal District Hospital.

Approximately 150 volunteers from the organization donated blood during the event.

Speaking to the media, DESAM president, Oinam Romesh, stated that the camp aimed to address the acute shortage of blood in the State caused by ongoing unrest and various conflicts.

He emphasized that the donation drive is a critical effort to assist those facing medical emergencies during these difficult times.

Romesh further appealed to the public and relevant authorities to ensure that individuals traveling for medical reasons or essential healthcare services are not hindered by road blockades or ongoing disturbances.
