KYKL sets its ONK in motion

Imphal, February 20 2012: After a gap of some years, the proscribed UG group KYKL has resumed its Operation New Kangleipak (ONK) .

This time, the target of the operation whether the 6000 and more students who defied rules and regulation of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) should be allowed to sit for the HSLC Examination or not.

Taking serious notes on the matter, a press statement of the organisation has imposed restriction on students who are not qualified to sit for the examinations but have enrolled themselves through back door.

It has also warned the parents of these students and officials concerned against allowing such students to sit for the examination to avoid the wrath of KYKL.

The statement pointed out that KYKL had successfully enforced its ONK in the valley area where they have their stronghold in the past.

However, the operation could not reach out in the hills areas as the outfit has no stronghold in those areas.

In order to enforce its guidelines and restrictions in the hills areas too, KYKL formed alliance with other organisations which have more members from the hills.

But the situation has changed a lot today and corruption has risen in the field of education.

On the current impasse among some student bodies which have varied opinions on the question of whether the students in question should be allowed to sit for the examination or not, the statement recalled that a meeting of the Examination Committee of BSEM under the chairmanship of Dr J Suresh Babu had rejected the approval of the student bodies on December 6 last year.

Later in another meeting, the committee asked the school authorities to submit the list once again to recheck it and see if they could be allowed to sit for the examination.

Unfortunately, the school authorities took the proposal of the committee to be a nod and added much more students in the list and enrolled them for the examinations.

Many students who could not pass the examinations are also looking for chances to sit for the examinations from some hills areas to pass the examination easily.
