Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang Haraoba commences

Moirang, April 19 2026: Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang Lai Haraoba, one of the most revered Umang Lai of Manipur, commenced today at Moirang by carrying out the sacred ritual of 'Lai Eetaba" at Hannakhong Maril.

The age-old ritual festival, which showcases the rich cultural old and spiritual heritage of the region, will continue for 24 days and is scheduled to conclude on May 12 .

Throughout the celebration, several important rituals will be performed.

Among some key rituals to be performed during the due course includes "Yakhamloi Khurumba, Phamung Thaba" on April 21, followed by "Laipou Shaba" on April 23 .

The rituals of "Phoudi Taba" and "Phi Tamba" will take place on April 27, while "Phiral Katpa" is slated for May 8 .

The Mukna Lamjel will be observed on May 10 as part of the traditional festivities.

The "Lairoi ceremony" on May 12 will mark the end of the Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang Haraoba.
