Imphal, October 18 2026:
The Imphal East District Exhibition of the 32nd National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) 2026 concluded today at the Department of Law Conference Hall, Manipur University, with young innovators showcasing curiosity-driven projects.
The day-long exhibition was organised by the Manipur Upliftment Centre under the aegis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Designed to foster research aptitude, creative thinking and scientific temper among school children aged 10-17 years, the exhibition brought together students, educators and science enthusiasts from across the district.
Students presented original, solution-oriented models aimed at addressing local environmental, technological and societal challenges, reflecting a shift from rote learning to practical inquiry.
Delivering the key address at the closing ceremony, Angomcha Chingkhei, vice president of Manipur Upliftment Centre, commended the participants for their dedication and technical creativity.
"Science is about exploring and experimenting, it is not just about attending classes and returning home without asking anything", he remarked.
Chingkhei also highlighted the crucial role of teachers and school administrators in nurturing curiosity, urging them to actively identify, encourage and mentor students interested in hands-on experimentation to transform routine lessons into transformative learning experiences.
The successful conclusion of the district level exhibition marked another milestone in promoting grassroots scientific engagement in the State.
