Imphal, August 18 2025:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana during his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, unveiling a transformative scheme with an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore aimed at supporting creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in two years.
According to Employees' Provident Fund Organisation's Special State Office in Imphal's regional PF commissioner-II Angom Surendra, the scheme will provide incentives of up to Rs 15,000 in two instalments to newly employed youth and up to Rs 3,000 per month per new employee to employers for creating new job opportunities.
The programme comprises two distinct parts targeting different beneficiaries.
Part A focuses on support to first-time employees registered with EPFO, offering one-month EPF wage up to Rs 15,000 in two instalments for employees with salaries up to Rs 1 lakh.
The first instalment will be payable after six months of service and the second instalment after 12 months of service and completion of a financial literacy programme by the employee.
To encourage saving habits, a portion of the incentive will be kept in a savings instrument or deposit account for a fixed period and can be withdrawn by the employee at a later date.
Part A is expected to benefit around 1.92 crore first-time employees.
Part B provides incentives for employers to encourage generation of additional employment in all sectors, with special focus on the manufacturing sector.
Employers will receive incentives up to Rs 3,000 per month for two years for each additional employment sustained for at least six months.
For the manufacturing sector, incentives will be extended to the third and fourth year as well.
This part is expected to incentivise employers for the creation of additional employment of nearly 2.60 crore persons.
The incentive payment mechanism utilises Direct Benefit Transfer mode using Aadhaar Bridge Payment System for first-time employees under Part A, whilst payments to employers under Part B will be made directly into their PAN-linked accounts.
Surendra urged all employers in Manipur to make optimal use of the scheme and help in generation of employment.
