Kpi, CCpur ready for first phase polls today

KANGPOKPI: Voting will be held from 7 am onwards on Friday at the 166 polling stations and 24 special polling stations, out of which four special polling stations are meant for voters who have been displaced from the Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency.
A total number of 1,03,563 voters of the district which includes 51,184 male voters, 52,378 female voters and one third gender voter of Saikul, Kangpokpi and Saitu assembly constituencies will vote for the Outer Manipur PC.
The district has 77 numbers of female managed polling stations.
On Thursday, the second and final phase of the dispersal of the polling officials and security personnel, including central armed police forces and state police for the conduct of the first phase polling was completed from the dispersal centre at Brigadier M Thomas Ground.
Prior to the dispatch of polling parties, the strong room was opened in the presence of district election team and representatives of various political parties at 6 am at LFC Hall, DC Complex.
The dispersal process commenced with the careful transportation of EVM machines from the strong room to the Brigadier M Thomas Ground, under the strict vigilance of the security personnel.
More than 300 female polling officials departed to their respective polling stations after receiving poll kits and materials, simultaneously security personnel also moved ahead to their destinations.
CHURACHANDPUR: Ahead of the scheduled polling for the Lok Sabha election commencing from 7 am Friday, polling personnel and materials for 249 polling stations were dispatched by Churachandpur DEO Dharun Kumar S here on Thursday in presence of SP Shaik Mohd Zaib Zakir, additional DEO Saurabh Yadav and AROs.
A total of 289 polling stations have been set up in the district.
These include four model polling stations, 15 special polling stations for internally displaced voters, 119 all women polling stations and one PwD manned polling station.
A total of about 87,612 male voters, 95,492 female voters and five third gender voters will exercise their franchise in four assembly segments of the district.
The DEO expressed his best wishes to all officials involved in conducting the polling successfully and emphasised the importance of proper documentation during the process.
