Blessing ceremony of 'Torei 2' held

Imphal, June 17 2026: The Yaipha Thouni Thouram (blessing ceremony) of Manipuri feature film "Torei 2" was held today at the HIHH Auditorium, Manipur Zoological Garden, Iroisemba.

The film is produced by Devita Urik Aheibam and directed by Khwairakpam Bishwamitra under the Ibudhou Thangjing Film Production banner.

Eminent actor-director Loitongbam Dorendro Singh attended as chief guest, Taorem Pritam.

Deputy Commissioner, KV Sangathan, Tinsukia Region, Ministry of Education, as function president, and veteran actor RK Hemabati as guest of honour.

Khwairakpam Bishwamitra said "Torei 2: Nang Nabuk Phatte" comes 20 years after Torei (2006) .

Around 60% of the film will be shot in Tinsukia, Assam, and 40% in Manipur.

The cast includes Devita, Binata, Kaiku, Bonny, and several new actors.

He added that Devita's role as producer brings a fresh dimension to the industry.

RK Hemabati praised the director's vision and wished the project success.
