Arambai Tenggol pledges support to probe

Imphal, June 17 2025: While extending full support to the ongoing police investigation into the killing of Chesam Abdul Kadir of Paobitek Mayai Leikai, the Arambai Tenggol (AT) Unit 27 QRT has appealed to the Meetei and Meitei Pangal community not to give the incident a communal colour.

According to a statement, AT Unit 27 Control Room said that a number of individuals suspected to be involved in the killing of Abdul Kadir has been arrested by the police.

Some individuals from Yumnam Huidrom Mayai Leikai, who are members of AT Unit 27 QRT, have also been taken into custody for investigation.

Additionally, other members of the QRT involved in the incident have been made to surrender to the police.

The statement reaffirmed that AT will extend full cooperation with all investigations and legal procedures.

It further appealed to both the Meetei and Meitei Pangal communities, who have long lived together in harmony, not to communalise the incident.
