Imphal, April 17 2026: World Haemophilia Day was observed today at the Department of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.

Held under the global theme "Diagnosis: First Step to Care", the event was organised by the Intas Foundation, Imphal.

Speaking at the event, Dr Irom Anil Singh emphasized the critical need for timely and accurate diagnosis in managing haemophilia.

He noted that early assessment of clotting factor levels is essential for effective disease management and for preventing life-threatening complications.

As part of the programme, self-infusion training sessions were conducted for patients and their family members, empowering them with essential skills to manage the condition at home.

Intas Foundation also distributed Factor VIII free of charge.

A total of 52 vials (500 IU each) were provided to 26 beneficiaries.

The event concluded with a call to action for increased public awareness and early diagnosis to improve the quality of life for those living with the condition.
