Moirang College to host 35th Manipuri Language Day

Moirang, August 16 2026: Moirang College will host the 35th Manipuri Language Day on August 20 at 10.30 am at the college Multipurpose Hall, aiming to promote and preserve the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the Manipuri language.

Moirang College in a release said that the celebration will feature a panel discussion on "Manipuri Language: Past, Present and Future", focusing on the historical roots of the language as well as its relevance in the contemporary era.

As part of the programme, two student competitions - a recitation competition on the theme "Aesthetic Values of Manipuri Language" and a quiz competition on "Manipuri Language & Culture for Bringing Peace and Harmony in Manipur" - will also be organised.

The competitions will provide students an opportunity to showcase their talent, knowledge and proficiency in the Manipuri language.

Students from all colleges are eligible to participate.

Interested students have been invited to register with the convener, Dr Moirangthem Rajesh Singh, Head, Department of Manipuri, Moirang College, on or before August 19.For registration, participants may contact or WhatsApp at 8837004425 .
