Seven fresh cases detected, TPR dips below 1 pc

With government bulletins reporting seven new positive cases out of 948 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the daily test positivity rate of Covid-19 infection in the state on Wednesday came down to 0.74 per cent against 1.18 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
No death case was reported on Wednesday and the toll stands at 2118 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 193 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 7 patients were discharged from home isolation (3), RIMS (1) and CCCs (3).The number of active cases stands at 114 out of which 44 (38.60 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 292 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 114 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availabilities in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only four reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday.
So far, the state has recorded 11240 positive cases and 116 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 245 new positive cases and 6 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 97 and 2 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 7 fresh cases (3 male & 4 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1) and other testing centres (6) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (1), Thoubal (1) and Senapati (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 137,028 (general population - 1,32,014 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,796 (general population - 1,29,791 and CAPF personnel - 5,005) and number of active cases is 114 (general population 112 and CAPF personnel - 2) .
The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent.
A total of 283 D-type and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 3359 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,24,503, out of which 11,70,963 had received the second doses and 63,950 precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,687), Imphal East (30,415), Thoubal (10,139), Churachandpur (11,045), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3472), Bishnupur (9821), Senapati (2487), Ukhrul (3266), Kakching (6885), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul 51), Kakching (122), Chandel 42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal 15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong 5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,160 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,647 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,12,936 tests per million population against the national average of 5,56,293 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1,55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 948 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.74 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.61 per cent.
