YAS files FIR, AMFA regrets rock concert

Deeply hurt with improper conduct by the audience during a musical concert organised as a part of the Patriots' Day observance by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Khuman Lampak football turf ground on Tuesday, sports minister Govindas Konthoujam said that FIR will be registered against organisers of the event.
Minister Govindas shared the information to media persons on the sidelines of the 'Har Ghar Thanga' campaign organised by YAS Department at Khuman Lampak on Wednesday.
People are supposed to honour and pay respect to great heroes of the land who sacrificed their lives fdr the motherland on Patriots' Day.
However, it was unsavoury that a rock concert was organised on this day as such acts tantamount to dishonouring great heroes of the land, he said adding that holding the rock concert on a playground defiled sanctity of sports.
Immediately after YAS minister's announcement to register FIR, YAS director T Phulen Meitei lodged a formal complaint at Imphal police station against AMFA, the organiser of the event.
The complaint said that no permission from relevant DC or YAS director was sought for the rock concert with theme 'Athoubasingda Katchaba' organised by AMFA.
Meanwhile, AMFA general secretary L Jyotirmoy Roy has expressed regret for organising the event and assured that AMFA will not commit such lapses in future.
On the other hand, officials of AMFA and All Manipur Ethical Socio Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) discussed the matter and has reportedly reached an understanding.
