Fish fingerlings distributed to farmers in Chandel

Chandel, May 14 2026: A special programme for distribution of fish fingerlings at government-subsidised rates was held on Thursday at the District-Level Fish Seed Farm, Kapam, Chandel, organisedby the District Fishery Officer, Chandel.

Speaking on the occasion, District Fishery Officer, Chandel, Angom Momo stated that the programme was organised to provide fish fingerlings to farmers of Chandel and Tengnoupal districts at affordable rates in order to support and enhance their livelihoods through fish farming activities.

During the programme, nearly 50 fish farmers from the two districts availed around 30,000 fish fingerlings at subsidised prices.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the District Fishery Officer, Chandel for making fish fingerlings available at reduced rates.

They further appealed to the Fishery Department to continue, such initiatives in the coming seasons and provide fingerlings at even more affordable rates to support local fish farmers.
