Assam Rifles to host pipe band, cultural show at Khongjom

Imphal, August 13 2026: Assam Rifles will organise a special Pipe Band Display and cultural evening at the historic Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal district on August 14 from 4 pm to 5.3 0 pm as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

According to IGAR (South), the event aims to promote patriotism, national pride and solidarity through music and cultural performances.

The Assam Rifles Pipe Band will also present martial and traditional compositions, while Khukri Dance and a Jazz Band display will also be featured.

Students of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Assam Rifles Public School and Mission Blind School will present cultural and musical performances.

The event is also intended to provide a platform for meaningful community engagement, particularly with the youth, at the historic war memorial.
