Kabui Union slams teacher transfer at ITI Takyel during exams

Imphal, May 13 2026: The Kabui Union, Manipur has denounced the transfer of a teacher from the Fruit & Vegetable Processing trade at Industrial Training Institute, Takyel, during the ongoing exam season.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Union said the transfer has affected students appearing for practical exams.

Students of the trade include Meiteis, Kabuis, Inpuis, Liangmais and others from hill districts, it said.

Students who came for exams found their trade instructor had been transferred, leaving them with no one to approach, the Union added.

Transferring a teacher midsession and during exams shows the institute has no concern for students' academic careers, it said.

The Union said students would not have objected if the posting was done after exams, and called the timing inappropriate.

It urged student bodies and the State Government to look into the matter to protect students' careers.
