Imphal, March 13 2026: The NSS Cell, Manipur University (MU) organised a 1-Day Orientation Programme today at the university auditorium as part of the ongoing Swachhta Action Plan.

The event was held under the aegis of the Directorate of NSS, North Eastern Region (NER), Guwahati, Assam.

The programme was graced by dignitaries, including Prof N Lokendra, Vice-Chancellor, MU; Naorem Praveen, Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports), Manipur; D Carthigueane, Regional Director, NSS Guwahati; Dr Mayengbam Veto, Director, Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur; Nakul Chandra Deori, Youth Officer, NSS Guwahati; and Prof Laishram Santosh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, MU.

During the event, Prof Santosh highlighted the significant role of the NSS in guiding the youth of the region.

He stated that the orientation programme was conducted with the objective of strengthening the NSS and leading the youth on a positive path with a clear vision.

NSS Programme Officers from various colleges also participated in the orientation programme.
