AR conducts medical camps

Churachandpur, January 13 2025:
The Assam Rifles on January 11 and 12 conducted a series of medical camps at Singhat village in Churachandpur district and Serou village, Kakching as part of "Operation Sadbhavana" .
The medical camp held at Singhat village aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the villagers, particularly those residing in remote border areas with limited access to medical facilities due to ongoing ethnic tensions in Manipur, said a release issued by IGAR (South) .
The camp was organized in collaboration with the unit hospital of Assam Rifles and medical staff from the SubDistrict Hospital, Singhat.
A total of 345 villagers benefitted from the medical camp, receiving consultations, treatments, and health check-ups.
Dr Steve Tuninung, MO I/C of Sub-District Hospital, Singhat, also delivered an awareness talk on various prevalent health issues, further educating the villagers on preventive measures.
The village authorities expressed their deep appreciation for this thoughtful initiative by Assam Rifles, highlighting the importance of such efforts in ensuring the well-being of the community in these challenging times.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles also conducted a medical camp at Serou village, Kakching district on January 12 with the primary objective to provide free medical checkups and treatments to the residents of Serou village.
The camp offered a wide range of services, including comprehensive health checkups and the distribution of essential medicines.
A total number of 162 patients (52 men, 73 women, and 37 children) were examined, treated, and referred for further care as part of the Assam Rifles initiative to address the healthcare needs of the underprivileged communities in remote areas, said the IGAR (South) .
