Imphal, August 12 2026: Dhanamanjuri University observed National Anti-Ragging Day on Wednesday at the Multipurpose Hall, DM College of Arts.

The programme was organised by the Anti Ragging Committee, DMU.

Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Vice Chancellor, DMU, attended as chief guest.

Prof Th Rabikanta Singh, Dean of Students' Welfare, Dr RK Joteen Singh, Registrar, and Irengbam Lenibala Devi, Panel Advocate, Manipur State Legal Services Authority, attended as guest of honour, functional president and resource person respectively.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr Kiirii Onand Monsang, Nodal Officer, Anti-Ragging Committee, said education must build character, empathy and respect for human dignity.

Prof W Chandbabu urged all stakeholders to maintain zero tolerance towards ragging and to uphold the university's record of zero ragging cases.

The resource person spoke on various forms of ragging and their legal and social consequences.

An awareness documentary was screened and students took a pledge against ragging.
