One-day sensitization on anti-ragging and bullying held in Chandel

Thoubal, August 12 2025: Inobservance of National Anti-Ragging Day 2025, the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) and Centre for Women & Girls (CWG) jointly organised a one-day sensitization programme on "Anti-Ragging and Bullying" at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Chandel.

The programme was attended by MCPCR chairperson Keisham Pradeepkumar, MCPCR member Mohammed Habibur Rahman, Centre for Women and Girls, executive director Heching Haokip, SDC Chandel Mothil Saka and JNV Chandel principal Dr Amarson Shankhil as presidium members.

During the technical session, MCPCR Legal Consultant, Advocate Th Rajkishore as the resource person highlighted the Prohibition and Eradication of Ragging Act, 2019 and Protection of Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act, 2012), stressing the importance of awareness and prevention measures.

The event saw participation from students and teachers of JNV Chandel, officials of ZEO Chandel, and staff from CWG and One Stop Centre, Chandel.
