Locals demand road renovation

Kakching, August 12 2024: Locals at Sugnu, Wapokpi, Tangjeng Khunou, Tangjeng Khunjao, Korsant, Chajing Khunou and Khongyam staged sit-in protests along the Wabakhai Lamkhai to Sugnu Road demanding construction of the aforementioned road stretch without delay.

The protest was organised by the Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu State Highway Road Development Demand Committee (LSR-DDC) after the Committee's appeal to repair the road stretch by August 11 went unfulfilled.

The protest which kicked off today will continue till August 16 at different localities along the Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu Road.

If the Government fails to act on their demand by August 16, intense forms of agitation including bandhs and blockades will be launched, informed the Committee.
