Churachandpur, April 12 2025: A meeting aimed at bridging trust gap between the Kuki and Meitei communities and fostering peace was held in the Donzang area of Churachandpur district under the leadership of Anil Kumar, (Commandant) Ad-hoc Battalion Commander of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) today.

The gathering brought together village headmen from the region, ITBP Company Commanders deployed locally, and representatives from sister agencies including Police, Assam Rifles and the BSF.

The meeting also sought to address pressing concerns related to the cultivation of land by both communities.

In a spirit of collaboration, the meeting agreed to allow cultivation in certain areas for "other communities", thereby taking significant steps toward mutual understanding and coexistence, said ITB officials.
