MY Bharat Leadership BootCamp concludes in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, August 11 2026: A three-day residential MY Bharat Leadership BootCamp organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Ukhrul, concluded today at the District Youth Skilling Centre, Hamleikhong.

The bootcamp, held from August 9, brought together 35 youths from different villages of Ukhrul district with the objective of enhancing their leadership skills, career readiness, financial literacy and understanding of democratic values and community engagement.

Speaking on the objective of the programme, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Ukhrul, AC Worchipem said the bootcamp was aimed at providing guidance and support to young people while offering them opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, interact with professionals and gain practical insights into various aspects of personal and career development.

During the programme, T Themreiyo Awungshi, General Manager, District Industries Centre, spoke on flagship government schemes and familiarised participants with various government initiatives and opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, employment and skill development.

Peacemoon Zimik, Managing Director, Career Pathfinder, conducted a session on career readiness and guidance, stressing the importance of preparing for the changing world of work and making informed career choices.

Participants were also encouraged to appear in competitive examinations to explore employment and career opportunities after graduation.

Dr Thingminao Horam, Assistant Professor, Sentinel College, conducted a session on democratic leadership and personality development, focusing on confidence, communication skills.

Digital literacy and community mobilisation and engagement were covered by Masopam Kasar, NSS Programme Officer, St Joseph College, Ukhrul.

The session emphasised responsible use of digital platforms and the role of youth in using technology for community awareness, mobilisation and social change.

Grace Dear Kasar, Assistant Professor, IGNTU Regional Campus, Manipur, conducted a session on Youth Parliament and Youth and Nation Building, introducing participants to democratic institutions and encouraging them to become active participants in the democratic and developmental process.

The three-day programme also included group discussions, a mock Parliament, yoga sessions, experience-sharing activities and problem-solving exercises, providing participants opportunities to communicate, work as teams and take collective decisions.
