Dr Kunjabihari felicitated for receiving honorary Doctorate

Thoubal, July 11 2026: Narrative art guru and Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) and All India Radio (AIR) artiste Dr Kunjabihari Shamurailatpam was felicitated by Laining Laishon Tengbang Lup, Manipur on Saturday in recognition of his receiving an honorary doctorate from the Sanskrit Ancient Yoga University, Tamil Nadu.

The felicitation programme was held at the Regional Centre for Cultural Heritage (RCCH) Hall at Yairipok Bamol Leikai.

The function was attended by Thambalnu Sahitya Marup-cum-Library, Yairipok founder and chief advisor Raghubir Thiyam as the chief guest, Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Academy, Thoubal Wangkhem secretary Laishram Bijoykumar as the functional president, and retired Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel Oinam Ibotomba Singh as the guest of honour.

As a mark of appreciation and encouragement, Laining Laishon Tengbang Lup, Manipur presented a memento to Dr Kunjabihari during the programme.

Dr Kunjabihari was recently conferred the Honorary Doctorate in Arts and Culture, 2026 by the Sanskrit Ancient Yoga University, Tamil Nadu, during a special function of the United Nations International Peace Council, in recognition of his thesis titled "Relation between Fine Arts and Religion, Declination of Religions in the Modem Society and Its Remedies" .
