Property tax, SWM enrollment now must for certificates in Imphal West

Imphal West has issued a notice making payment of property tax and enrollment in the Solid Waste Management (SWM) system mandatory for processing applications and issuance of certificates.
According to the notice dated July 10, 2026, all applicants residing within the jurisdiction of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) and other Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/Municipalities in Imphal West District, who are liable to pay property tax under the Manipur Municipalities (Property Tax) Rules, 2019, must clear all dues and ensure household enrollment in SWM before applying.
The concerned authorities including SDOs, SDMs, SDCs, EMs and other officers have been directed to seek two documents from applicants: a valid Property Tax Payment Receipt or Clearance Certificate, and proof of SWM enrollment issued by the respective Urban Local Body.
In case of outstanding dues or non-enrolment, the issuing authority shall advise the applicant to comply first.
The order comes into effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
