AR spearheads civic outreach initiatives in Chandel, Kakching

Chandel/Kakching, October 08 2026: Assam Rifles conducted a series of multi-faceted community outreach, security coordination and environmental initiatives across Chandel and Kakching districts on October 7 and 8 .

On October 7, Assam Rifles convened a security meeting at Pallel Garrison in Kakching District with 11 representatives from Civil Society Organisations and village authorities representing H Kotlenphai, Molnoi, Tuisomjang, Munjang, Molnom, H Wajang and Zion villages, said a press release by the Assam Rifles.

The interaction focused on evaluating the prevailing security situation, maintaining, peace and strengthening coordination between security forces and local leaders.

Discussions also encompassed key developmental priorities, including education, healthcare, welfare and access to basic facilities, reinforcing a collaborative framework for regional stability.

On the same day, a friendly basketball match between Ex- Servicemen and serving personnel at Modi in Chandel district was also organised.

Extending the outreach to environmental stewardship, Assam Rifles conducted a dedicated Swachhata Abhiyan at Machi in Chandel district today.

The AR personnel undertook cleanliness activities in public spaces, cleared accumulated waste and interacted with local residents to promote responsible waste disposal, hygiene practices and long-term protection of the local ecosystem, added the release.
