Jiribam, July 07 2024: Rural Development Committee, Women Action Committee and Khunou Meira Paibi from Lakhipur Khunou Cachar, Assam have extended aid to the displaced folks sheltering in relief camps in Jiribam.

Speaking in this connection, Dr Kangabam Shanti Kumar, retd Additional DC said that members of Rural Development Committee, Women Action Committee and Khunou Meira Paibi collected donations from Meiteis, Bengalis and Rongmeis to provide essential items to the relief camps at Cachar Lakhinagar, Bidyanagar and village volunteers in Jiribam.

They donated lentils, cooking oil, soap, detergent, fermented fish, salt and snacks.

Sunita Konthoujam, president, Women Action Committee; Oinam Biramani, president, Rural Development Committee and Oinam Sumitra, Khunou Meira Paibi president were present at the aid initiative.
